Ultimate Yield ™ Spring wheat hits dryland record: V-1 Issue-5
Ultimate Yield ™ Spring wheat hits dryland record. Yields verified by Shawn Colburn , Becker-Underwood, Michael Raine, Western Producer.
Well no one dreamt we were gonna get this one! Everyone wanted details from our last newsletter so here it is. We are sure glad we have our little 640 acre farm to test things on and we understand the frustration of trying to combine tough grain in November! Although our fields were lodged quite heavily we were surprised how easily some pick up fingers helped get most of the crop. On top of the weather dilemma, we blew the motor on our old CTS combine and were sure thankful when John Deere rented us one. Then neighbours Jim Cook and Neal Honch came and helped finish. We actually enjoyed watching them compare the capacities of the New Holland and the Case IH! And what ranges in grades from different companies. I see how frustrating it can be to move tough wheat
Now that I have seen the costs! I have Questions! Harvesting and marketing Ultimate Yield™ (UYM) wheat.

It’s time! The Ultimate Yield™ Program is ready for your farm!: V-1 Issue-4
So you have 2 farms side by each with very similar environments and you ask yourself...
Why does one have a better stand than the other?
Sometimes we may answer the question with, “well one must have got more rain” or “one must have received more nitrogen”. However when you break it down, all the little things added together is what makes the difference. We tried an interesting experiment this year. We compared the application of the Ultimate Yield program to that of a more traditional program.
The Rack has fine tuned its agronomy field scouting program and expanded it to include all factors that determine yield to help make better agronomic decisions. A lot of retailers sometimes focus a little too much on only fertilizer and crop protection because that’s what we sell. We took it a step further and looked at every factor that determines yield in a given environment and how they relate. We are convinced that as a retailer we need to add value to the products we sell our customers by looking for answers and solutions to problems they may have in all production issues, not just fertility and crop protection. Focusing in only on fertility and crop protection does not allow us to understand how all the yield determining factors relate.

ULTIMATE YIELD Proves Successful in Trial Run: V-1 Issue-2
This spring Rack undertook a trial run of the Ultimate Yield ™ Program with a local grower, Jeff Hoogeveen of Biggar. This program incorporates both crop and soil husbandry into one convenient agronomic package.
The key element to the Ultimate Yield program is the variable rating of fertilizer during seeding. This process is an in-depth look into the relationships between topography, nutrient levels, and vegetation patterns within the field.
Finding the Optimal Spray Particle Size. Spraying chemicals effectively requires a
specific balance of droplet size, wind, temperature, and humidity. When spraying, the one factor that can be controlled by the operator is the size of the droplet. Spray particles are measured in microns (Km) which translates to 1/25000 of an inch. To put this in more relative terms, a tooth brush bristle is 300 Km’s in diameter.
Do you know how many grains are in your water? Rack could help you improve the effectiveness of your spraying today!
